Personal Data Protection
The rights related to the processing of personal data are regulated by the Regulation (EU) No. 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council of April 27, 2016, on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (hereinafter referred to as "GDPR") and Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on the protection of personal data and on the amendment and supplementation of certain laws.

The Technical University of Košice (hereinafter referred to as "TUKE") is the Data Controller that processes personal data on its own behalf, with specific requirements for its designation set forth in special regulations that define the purposes and, in part, the means of personal data processing.

Personal Data Protection Rules
Your personal data must be processed to the necessary extent for the fulfillment or securing of obligations and tasks that arise for us as a public higher education institution from:
- generally binding legal regulations.
TUKE may proceed with the processing of your personal data in cases where the scope of personal data defined by legal regulations is insufficient to achieve the specified purpose of processing, also based on the following legal grounds:
- if necessary for the performance of a contract concluded between you and TUKE, including pre-contractual relationships, in accordance with Article 6(1)(b) GDPR,
- if necessary for the performance of a task carried out by TUKE in the public interest or in the exercise of public authority entrusted to TUKE, in accordance with Article 6(1)(e) GDPR,
- if necessary for the purposes of legitimate interests pursued by TUKE, in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or
- if you have given consent to the processing of your personal data for a specific purpose, in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
