Non-extended cards will be automatically blocked in both internal and external systems.
IDs issued by the Technical University of Košice are accepted as multifunctional IDs in the Košice Public Transport Company (DPMK). The categories of IDs are:
Internal employee IDs and international ITIC cards issued at the Technical University of Košice are visually presented according to the following images:
Internal Employee ID
International ITIC Teacher ID
Full-time Student
Part-time Student
Other university IDs issued by the Technical University are visually represented in the following images:
For the DPMK application, the cardholder must follow the same procedure as with the employee ID. Pensioners are required to prove their entitlement to discounted travel fares by presenting a pension certificate.
Activation of external functionalities
The activation of external functionalities is carried out exclusively through the university terminals after the student has enrolled in regular studies for the academic year. This process ensures that the student’s ID card is linked to the appropriate services and functionalities, such as public transportation, library access, and other external systems.
The prolongation and issuance of the extension label for the academic year 2024/2025 for higher-year students will take place starting from September 2, 2024, at the Institute of Computational Technology, Němcová 3, ground floor, door number 5.
To use discounts, such as transportation benefits, it is necessary to activate the student ID at any university terminal or terminals provided by transport service companies.
Electronic extension can be completed by placing your ID card at the university terminal, located at various university facilities:

All electronic functionalities, including those for transportation sectors, will be activated using the described method.
With the ISIC label, you will receive various additional discount coupons in the coupon booklet or on the website www.isic.sk.
Students in all three levels of full-time study who do not have the 09/2025 extension label affixed or pre-printed on their ISIC cards will be blocked in all systems starting from October 15, 2024.

We ask all full-time students to check their student IDs and, if they have not yet received the 09/2025 extension label, to promptly pick it up at the Card Creation Office at the IT Support Center (ÚVT), Němcová 3 (for FVT students, at the faculty office in Prešov).
The EURO<26 university ID is intended for all part-time students who are under 27 years old.
It is a sticker that will be placed on the back of the university ID, allowing the student to enjoy a world of discounts and benefits through the EURO<26 program.
The EURO<26 license on the card is valid from September 1st of the respective academic year until September 30th of the following year, or until the student turns 27 (whichever comes first). The EURO<26 license must be renewed annually by purchasing a new sticker.
For unsuccessful bachelor’s and master’s students:
They will continue their studies, and their card will be extended until September 30 of the relevant academic year. They must visit the contact office at the IT Support Center (ÚVT) or, after their state exams, at least 7 days later, bring their card to the university terminal. The terminal will update the card’s validity and the student discount (it’s necessary to check by clicking on the terminal screen). They will remain students entitled to discounted travel, and their information will be transferred to all internal and external systems.
For successfully graduated bachelor’s students who will continue to master's studies:
Upon successfully completing their bachelor's degree, they cease to be students and, during the vacation period, lose their entitlement to discounted travel and meal subsidies. They retain access to the university library and the ability to use discounts provided through CKM SYTS (square extension label, www.isic.sk).
If they wish to continue using their ISIC card for travel during the vacation until enrollment in the master's program, they must visit a university terminal. Otherwise, the card will become invalid. The terminal will set it to full (non-discounted) fare tickets, and they can use their wallet credit or purchase time-based tickets at full fare. After enrolling in the master’s program, they can use the terminal again to activate their discounted travel.
Transport providers note that confirmation of acceptance into the master's program does not serve as proof that the individual is still a student and thus not eligible for discounted travel tickets.
For successfully graduated master's students:
For all students who do not continue to doctoral studies: The ISIC card can no longer be used in either internal or external applications (e.g., transportation), and they will need to purchase a transport provider's card for travel. Any remaining balance on the ISIC card can be transferred to the new transport card.
If a student decides to pursue doctoral studies, from the day of enrollment in the doctoral program, they can use their original ISIC card again, but without eligibility for transportation discounts. Use of the card for full fare travel during the vacation period for future doctoral students is handled individually at the IT Support Center (ÚVT).

For the application in DPMK, the ID card holder must follow these steps:
Step 1: Personification
This is carried out at two DPMK sales points: :
To complete the personification, a valid ID card must be presented. A DPMK employee will record the transport information into the ID chip. This process is done only once.
Step 2: "Charging"
This step involves purchasing a travel fare based on the current tariff. This process can be repeated and can be done at various DPMK sales locations: http://dpmk.sk/kontakty/predajne-miesta
Student IDs are issued in two versions: international ISIC cards for full-time students and internal university cards for part-time students. ISIC cards are extended with an ISIC prolongation mark, while part-time student cards are extended with an internal university prolongation mark.
The IDs issued at the Technical University of Košice have a visual design as shown in the following images:

Use of Student ID in DPMK (Public Transport in Košice)
A student who receives a personalized ID card can immediately proceed with the "card charging" process, which means purchasing a travel ticket based on the current fare. This process can be repeated and is available at DPMK sales locations: http://dpmk.sk/kontakty/predajne-miesta
Preukazy študentov externého štúdia budú akceptovateľné v DPMK na úrovni zamestnaneckých preukazov - bez zľavy.

Non-provision of CKM discounts - complaint resolution:
If a student has not received a discount despite having a valid ISIC card, they should contact CKM SYTS at 02/3210 1970 or email recepcia@ckmsyts.sk for assistance.
